I quote an excerpt from the book "Dacia prehistoric"by N. Densusianu which may be related to this theory.

Approximate translation, with Google translate:

"Even the name of the Mures river that bears him prince of Transylvania, which appears in the form of medieval historical documents Morisius (Cod. Arpadianus, XVIII 62. 1291) Marusius (Kemény, Nititia, II. 41), Morusius (Schuller , Archiv. I. p, 680), we emphasize that a strong old remote, this river basin water was only one dead (Marusic).

Moreover, even today there is a widespread ancient tradition and strong, that the plains of Wallachia, Transylvania, Hungary and the valleys were once covered by an internal sea.
Thus, George Brancovici Chronicle, written by him years 1688-1690, contains the following about the great tradition of the countries of Dacia:

"This Pombal (Pompey the Great) to cut the dike to Byzantium in the White Sea entered the Black Sea, and may have remained dry, Moldavia, Nera Nera Muntenescă and pepper" (Ar. Densusianu, critical-literary magazine 1893 p. 367).

This tradition, the Black Sea in a distant era would not have output. Tell a peripateticul expressed and the Lampsac Strato (c. 270 BC f,), Black Sea, said the dance would have been a-date with everything closed and the Bizantiu Strait would be opened after enormous pressure of water bodies, rivers spilled their large tip the sea. The same thing happened, says Strato, and the Mediterranean, which from a large accumulation of river waters, the barrier would be broken at sunset, and then into the sea reversându external, have elapsed and the lake drained sites before Europe's (Strabo, geogr. I. 3. 4.)

May we note here that in Hungary, a tradition still esistă people that countries that were once plains covered by water, which later drained through the step-by-iron gates. Értekezések the cake. tudom, körébıl. XII. VIII. sz. p. 59."

P.S. I meant to say that it dried up a few hundreds of thousands of years (about 505 000, to be precise). Don't ask me for references, you should know how to research the facts when reading stuff like this on the Net. Don't trust me, do your own research.

Great! With one minor flaw: geological facts indicate that the Panonnian sea dried up a few thousand years before any of the described stories are supposed to have taken place.

To anda (the only comment I bothered to read, because I was writing just below it): The area between the Adriatic and the Black Sea was never called Illyria. Check your sources, mainly Herodotus and Thucydides! The Romans did not amuse themselves by giving new names to regions. Do your homework, people, you appear to know how to read and write!

Just want to add that the area was called Illyria...all of it from the adriatic to the black sea. It was the Romans that divided Illyria into provinces: Thrace, Macedonia, Panonia, Illyria proper, Dacia etc. So, when ascribing possible events in this area, one should consider this nomenclature.

Accurate enough to get my attention. Some people though have no taste. This is an actual map to represent; Pontos which was called Patmos, Styg which was called Styx, and was in conjunction with the land set aside by God. Good information.
